FEEDBACK PROVIDED BY LEON GOUWS

The following email has been received from Bergrivier Municipality’s Leon Gouws, and it contains important feedback on the anticipated Day Zero for our area.

Good day all

As promised at the Public Meeting held last week, the  following information relating to day Zero is available.

The Department Water Affairs had agreed to release some water for the West Coast  to the Misverstand Dam.

Thus shifting the expected day zero from 27 April 2018 to the first week in June 2018.

Please remember there are other factors such as interventions put in place by Saldana Municipality as well as the start of the rainy season in May 2018 that can still affect the possible date of day Zero.

Saldana Bay Municipality is trying to be totally of the water supply from the Misverstand Dam.

If it start to rain in May 2018 and depending on the Dam levels , there might not be a day Zero for this year .

All depends on the rainfall figurers.
