Kim Pistor completed her articles in East London with Yazbek and Co in 1994 whereafter she was registered as a practicing attorney by the Law Societies of the Cape and of KwaZulu-Natal.  She was also admitted as a conveyancer by the Cape High Court in the year 2000 whereafter she worked for Rabie Property Group in Cape Town as their conveyancing manager and legal advisor for 15 years and was involved in the development structuring and conclusion of various property deals in and around Cape Town relating to the following developments during and after the property boom.
