COMMITTEE ON MINERAL RESOURCES AND ENERGY – PUBLIC HEARING

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
THE PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON MINERAL RESOURCES AND ENERGY WILL BE CONDUCTING PUBLIC HEARINGS IN THE WESTERN CAPE PROVINCE.

The Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources and Energy will be conducting public hearings on the Upstream Petroleum Resources Development Bill within the Western Cape Province. The public hearing for the West Coast District Municipality will be held as follows;

Date: Friday, 17 February 2023
Place: Skilpad Hall (Vredenburg)
Time : 10:00 – 14:00

The Bill aims, among other things, to provide for the; promoting equitable access to the nation’s petroleum resources for all the people of South Africa; substantially and meaningfully expand opportunities for black persons to enter and actively participate in the upstream petroleum sector and to benefit from the exploitation of the nation’s petroleum resources; overseeing the promotion of local employment, skills development;

This serves as an invitation to attend and participate in the upcoming public hearing and further provide your input on the draft design under consideration.

Parliament will provide transport on the day of the public hearing.
